Alright, this is my very first review for an album this year and it won’t start with a Metal recording but with a Ritual Drone Mystik music, and I can say this year started with one of the most impressive recordings I’ve ever heard. When we talk about Drone, most of the albums that come to my mind are wrapped in an extensive monotonous layer of industrial distorted noise. On the other hand, contrasting this stunner suffocating panorama, Ritual Ambient is richier in the nuances of its own simplicity, profoundly hypnotic, devious… voluptuous.
MLLR’s ZED ALIZ ZED [Lucifer Gnosis Mantra] meditates on anagogic Ritual Ambient atmosphere beyond the Drone interference. It’s a journey to the emptiness of the inner void nourished by the exegesis of the occultism in ancient cultures, deeply rooted in the immanent nature of the esoteric being;
MLLR explores the substance and the element of the quintessential representation of Lucifer.
Polymath and Necromancer, MLLR summons a portal to access a lower sphere of darkening through a trance based profound meditation, providing a channelization mean, turning physical body into the key for accessing the inner black dimensions in the paradox of the inner exit.
Musically speaking ZED ALIZ ZED is highly influenced by the Far East meditation Gurus of Tibet, starts with a perfectly balanced mixture of Dark Atmospheric with the electrical buzzing of Drone and a touch of eastern Folk, the soundscape navigates on a silky chilling mysterious atmosphere, gradually introducing simple percussion elements with the vibrance of the meditating voices, Lucifer Gnosis Mantra is now intoxicating, hallucinogen and imposing, An outstanding paroxysm for the moment of greatest concentration that gradually fades away leaving you a renewed black energy.
Nicely performed MLLR takes meditation to another level of consecration.
The art of the album is just splendid! As a visual artist and multi instrumentalist MLLR performs a neat fuse of techniques to reveal a continuous tone textured art; excepting for the inner pictures of the artist and his studio, the whole package is monochromatic. Every element was put with exquisiteness, the nicety of the minimalist texture and typography matches the music. Stored in the heavyweight gatefold lays a shiny marbled grey LP, The front art is rich in symbolism & culminates the process of the first release of this laudable artist that has been earned his title by hand and discipline. Doubtless a jewel for a Gesamtkunstwerk admirers. Very Limited! Extra Rare!
